New Music Tuesday: Feelin’ Good! By Nicole Emenhiser

Posted on in Blog

So my happy playlist is my home, and I figured I’d share a few of the songs I listen to most. These are my favorites when I’m feeling crazy good and want to keep it goin’, or when I’m feeling down and need a little pick-me-up. (So basically what I’m saying is a happy playlist is right for all occasions.)

Secrets – Mary Lambert

Let’s start with an obvious one. Everyone’s heard this lately, but maybe you need to be reminded it’s out there! If you’re having a day when you just need to not give a damn (or be reminded that that’s okay!) here’s the song for you.

I Like Giants – Kimya Dawson

If you ever need to take a minute to step back from your life problems, listen to this song then do exactly what it says. “I am grounded I am humble I am one with everything” is a really good message to make you feel less important and more important and exactly as important as you really are, really. And somehow it says all of that without being pretentious.

Troy Ave – Doo Doo

And then sometimes you just need a song to say “Screw it, I know I’m good”

In My Mind – Amanda Palmer

If you’re looking for a role model for “Do whatever you want and don’t give a single damn” then Amanda Palmer’s your girl. Despite being so outgoing (or maybe because of?), she’s always brave enough to put her vulnerabilities out there for the world to see. It’s very sweet, and very relatable.

Feeling Good – Nina Simone

I think everyone knows this one, no explanation really needed.
